Tom Robinson, co-founder of Playground, had a dream of empowering people to make a difference in their community while doing things they enjoy doing anyway. He created a grassroots organization, LiveFeed, that empowers musicians and raises funds to support area hunger-relief agencies. We explored ways to make LiveFeed a sustainable venture that could best utilize the talents and efforts of a diverse group of people. It has been such a raging success that Tom has now stepped down as president of Playground to go full-time as Executive Director of LiveFeed.
How does an organization with only two paid staff manage communication between dozens of volunteers, over 100 bands and venues and countless fans? How do we track, measure and publish the results of our efforts? Playground continues to help us succeed with the development of cutting-edge online applications that allow us to do in minutes what could have taken hours or days, or could have simply rendered our operation untenable. Playground has made it possible for us to grow at an unprecedented rate.
